Spring is Here

Spring has arrived and the wisteria is in full bloom all over the county.  It is time to get that garden planted.  During WWII our federal government asked people to plant their own gardens as way to help the war effort.

Now, I know that our current government would not suggest this plan of action, but I think it would be prudent to do so. As we all can see that our grocery bill is higher and higher with each trip to the store,  planting a garden will lessen the pain of the checkout line. Also as an extra benefit, you will be eating healthier.

I personally have found it very relaxing to work in a garden. It gives me time to reflect and admire all the wonders our dear Lord has created  ... from the clouds in the sky to the earth worm that tills the soil.  All of nature is truly amazing when you take the time to just observe and notice it around you.  We spend far too much of our limited time on this earth being self adsorbed with ourselves when we should be looking around at the unbelievable and awe inspiring show our Lord puts on for us everyday that we call nature.

  1. Good idea Traveller! We are doing a raised garden this year in hope of reducing maintenance and increasing yield. The wonder and nurture of a garden is truly a gift of GOD.

The song of the birds for mirth,
One is nearer God’s heart in a garden
    Than anywhere else on earth."
