MCPC recommends BOS to discuss having Donna Holt speak to them.

Last night at the  Mathews County Planning Commission meeting, a vote was taken that they recommend  the Mathews Board of Supervisors discuss having Donna Holt speak to them.  Donna would cover the same ground that she presented at a public meeting some time ago as to how the Mathews County Comprehensive Plan passed in January of  last year follows the provisions of Agenda 21. Although the Planning Commission chair was not in favor of it, when the vote was taken there was only one dissenting vote.

None of the Board of Supervisors members attended Donna's  public meeting so Concerned Citizens  asked the Board  to set a date for Donna to come and speak to just them and the Planning Commission..  The immediate response by  the Mathews Board of Supervisor's chair was they did not have the time for it. Hopefully, the Commission's recommendation will result in the Boards reconsideration and  a favorable vote by them..
The next Board of Supervisors  meeting will be Tuesday the 24th at 7:00 P.M. at the Historic Courthouse. Please consider coming to the meeting and  speaking in favor of having Donna address them.

Also, at that meeting, we will be submitting a resolution regarding the Water Plan that they voted for at their last meeting.  We will be urging them to vote for the resolution which includes the chair's own words that the Water Plan does not apply to private wells and would be used only in a dire drought situation. We are just asking that those words which were the understanding for the vote, be put in writing and voted on. The chair had said that it wasn't necessary to have the resolution.  We respectfully disagree.

  1. I cannot for the life of me figure out WHY the Mathews Board of Supervisors would not want to hear "The Rest of the Story" as Paul Harvey used to say. Surely our Mathews County Board of Supervisors are 'fair-minded' and 'objective', and as such will welcome a presentation by Donna Holt. Thank you, Chairman Jeanine Burns and Board members for remembering to represent ALL Mathews Citizens.
